Texas plans advertise an average price at exactly 500, 1,000, or 2,000 kWh. Your month rarely lands on those numbers — and the fine print adds fixed fees, delivery charges, and credits that vanish the moment you drift.
So we price every plan line by line at your actual usage. If leaving your current plan costs money, that exit fee gets spread across the months you have left and counted against the switch.

Is it actually free?
Yes. You never pay Watt Choice anything. When you switch through our link, the new provider pays us a commission. Plans are ranked by what you'd actually pay, not by what a provider pays us — so a plan that pays us nothing can still win.
Do you sell my data?
No. Your bill and usage data are used to run the comparison and nothing else. We do not sell it, share it with marketers, or use it for ads. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
What is Smart Meter Texas consent?
Smart Meter Texas is the state-run portal that holds your actual meter readings. With your consent we pull your real 15-minute usage history from it, so the math runs on the electricity you actually used instead of an estimate. You can revoke that consent whenever you want.
What if my plan has a cancellation fee?
We count it. The fee is spread across the months left on your contract and added to the cost of switching. If the savings do not clear the fee, we tell you to stay put and check back when your contract is closer to ending.
How do you make money?
Providers pay us a one-time commission when someone enrolls in a plan through our tracked link. That is the whole business. It only works if the switch genuinely saves you money, because nobody enrolls through a bad recommendation twice.
